Back Up and Running

We've gotten the lathe back up and running!
We managed to post an ad last Wednesday for a few new items, including Nostepinnes of Exotic Hawaiian Wood, and we were SOLD OUT within 48 hours!
We've turned out 8 more Nosties and Eggs and have added them to our photo folder here:

I had been beading and working on small items while packing our household goods last September, and with the limited space here at home, I've again been working on small items.
Some of them turned out to be cute, creative knitting stitch markers. Here are a few of them.

NOSTEPINNE sunshine

Our newest endeavor- My husband, John, learned to spin wool right alongside of me this past April. We have been so enamored with all the steps from sheep to socks, sweaters, blankets, or shawls, that we've even learned to make tools needed for spinning.
Each nostepinne is hand turned, made of wood collected by John as he has had to adventure into our Pre-Katrina neighborhood, near New Orleans, to clear timber...all part of his responsibilities with the U.S. Coast Guard. Each nostepinne is a 'little bit of Katrina history'.
